There was only a small offering of lambs and sheep. Lamb quality was good with a large percentage of trade weights. Light stores were in limited supply and there were no restocking and feeder orders operating. The market sold to a cheaper trend than the last sale, two weeks ago. Lambs eased around $10 across most weights and grades. The few light lambs sold from $143 to $163/head. Medium and heavy trade weights sold from $165 to $197 per head for lambs to 24kg averaging 840c to 860c/kg. Heavy lambs were in short supply and reached $218/head or 780c to 800c/kg. Merino lamb started at

$105/head for light weights and topped at $193/head for heavy lambs.
There were limited numbers of heavy sheep and not all buyers operating on the heavier weights meant prices were back $10 to $15/head. Medium weight sheep were in better supply and competition was strong with prices remaining firm to slightly dearer. Light crossbred ewes sold from $140, to the heavy weights which reached $230 per head. Merinos ranged from $150 to $185 per head. Lamb jumped this week by approximately 1000 sheep and lambs and the quality was again quite mixed. There were some good lines of trade and heavy weights while light store lambs were limited. Only a small run of Merino lambs was penned. Feeders and restockers were again active on lambs up to 21-22kg. The market sold to a firm, to slightly dearer trend.
 
Lambs to restock started at $146 and ranged to $185/head and feeders paid to $208/head. Medium and heavy trade lambs sold mainly from $175 to $208/head for lamb up to 24kg. Heavy and extra heavy lambs sold firm to $4 dearer on a quality run and sold to a top of $250 per head to average from 770c to 830c/kg. Merino returning to the paddock ranged from $158 to $178/head.
 
Mutton numbers lifted and medium weight sheep made up the bulk of the yarding, with quality being fair to good. Prices were again very solid with some mutton selling slightly dearer. Most of the medium weights made between $135 – $180 and heavy crossbred ewes sold to a top price of $269.60. Wethers reached $254, averaging between approximately 685c to 725c/kg cwt for the majority.

Numbers eased again in this sale and the quality was mixed with more secondary cattle penned. Weaners were in fewer numbers and there were only a few ideal feeders. Trade cattle were in noticeably short supply with restockers and feeders purchasing the majority. Grown steers were in limited numbers and too few to quote. Restockers were active on grown heifers and there were approximately 270 cows penned. The market sold to a predominantly firm to dearer trend on the better cattle, while secondary lines were cheaper.


Weaner steer prices were exceptional and sold to a slightly dearer trend,
reaching 509c/kg. Weaner heifers were similar and reached 462c/kg for light weight heifers and 405c/kg for those over 200kg. The better medium and heavy feeder steers were firm, while the secondary lines were 4c to 5c cheaper. Feeder steers made from 310c to 385c/kg. Restockers paid to 410c/kg. Heifers to feed-on were firm in price, selling to 386c/kg, while the few trade cattle penned sold to 416c for steers and 380c/kg for heifers.


Grown heifers to restock and feed were unchanged selling from 280c to 330c/kg. Medium weight cows to process were firm to 4c softer, making from 248c to 281c and heavy cows eased 5c to 6c on average making from 266c to 282c/kg. Light restocking cows reached 300c/kg.
