The Harden Hawks will be hosting the Highland Storm on Saturday at Robert’s Park in the first outings for 2020 for First Grade and the Ladies tackle side.
The Hawks are dedicating the day and evening as a fundraiser for the Salway and Hocking/Ainsworth families who were severely
affected by the south coast fires. A number of raffles will be in
operation as well as bucket collections around the ground from 1pm on the day.
Later in the evening there will be fundraising activities at the Hawks major sponsor the Carrington Hotel. The club has offered a big thank you to former Hawk Chris Quinn for the donation of the 2019 premiership winning roosters playing jumper. Committee
member Jodie Pollard said, “Chris always helps out our little town when in need.” The Roosters jumper is already up on Facebook if anyone would like to bid. Coach Luke Brown has been preparing his troops for their first trial match against what is expected to be a very competitive outfit form the Southern Highlands.
Luke said, “We have had really good numbers at training and it will be a good test. Blokes can practice their timing and work on their combinations. As in all trials, teams are a bit rusty but that is what they are for. We are trying blokes in different positions and giving blokes a runIt’s great to see so many locals having a run.”
