The Harden Memorial Pool and the Jugiong Pool facilities are without a Pool Manager.
Hilltops Council and previously Harden Shire Council employed a person to undertake the management of both facilities in a year round role.
The position was vacated approximately a month ago and has not yet been advertised or filled.
The position was first implemented at Harden Shire Council in the previous term of Council after it was identified that a Manager was needed to ensure that both facilities were properly managed, including the grounds, water quality, customer service and lifesaving duties. The position was designed for an employee to spend approximately 5 to 6 months of the job, preparing, running and then decommissioning the facility at the end of the season. After this the employee would work the rest of the year in an indoors environment, often in customer service or front desk duties position.
In the past the pool has been very ably managed by a number of Council Managers. One of the most prominent being Nic Nadycz OAM, who managed the pool for 21 years between 1983 and 2004.
