Local 4 year old gelding Bombdiggity will have one of the best jockeys in the nation on his back when he competes in the Tab Highway Plate at Royal Randwick on Saturday. Hugh Bowman who rode Winx for the majority of her record breaking wins will be aboard the son of Zoustar, as he attempts to win his 4th race from his 8th start.
Bombdiggity is a last start winner at Wagga where he won by over 2 lengths. He sports the orange colours of the West Tigers and the owners will be hoping he will leap from the barriers at 1:35pm and be there at the finish.
Part owner Nathan Schofield said, “We were hoping he would draw inside barrier 8 or 9 and he drew barrier 7. He should have some early speed, we will see how he goes on Saturday.”
The Tab Highway Plate over 1000 metres has total prizemoney of $75,000 with $35,250 for first place. Good luck ladies and gents.
