On Tuesday 22 October, Year 5 went to the Australian War Memorial and we had a blast with our driver Mr Wade and our teacher Mrs Glover. When we got to the destination, we watched a short clip of the memorial peace day, Remembrance Day and the big do not touch speech and Mr Wade accidently popped his head over the glass and an alarm went off, luckily no one got in trouble. After we had a little walk around, we went to the Discovery Zone where we could touch everything. There was a submarine that was my favourite. Including a helicopter, and there was trench’s that made your feet look diseased. A drawer that opened in the submarine which produced a foul smell. Then we went with a tour guide that taught us about World War I and the Light Horse statue Bill the Bastard. We sadly learnt about a dog named Kruger that was shot five times. Ouch! When it was over we went to the nearby eating area and we had lunch. After lunch we went home. And that was the trip. Written by Marko Djukic and edited by Malachi Whittington.
