The Binalong Brahmans held their AGM on October 28 and Benny Spencer was returned as President with wife Ali as Secretary. All previously held positions were retained which included Treasurer Helen Hannaford, previous Club President Curley Sykes moved a motion of congratulations to Helen for the great financial position of the Brahmans during 2019.
Secretary Ali Spencer added that she was delighted with the Brahman’s response to their campaign for Ronald McDonald House at the end of the 2019 season when we donated over $4000 to the charity. Ali also mentioned that one of the Club’s chief complaints had been the quality of the Rec Ground’s public address system, this has now been fixed with a new PA system for 2020.
The 2019 Head Coach has indicated to the club that he may not be available during 2020 and rather than confuse the situation Pete Adam has handed the role to Nathan Lalliard who was the 2019 assistant, the replacement assistant coach will be dummy-half Tim Crellin who had a great season with Binalong during 2019.
Vice President Leon Arabin commented: “had a few results gone our way late in the season Binalong would have had a semi-final game to play, but it didn’t work out like that”. The Brahmans had enough competition points on the table to play finals but their differential was not sufficient to meet requirements.
The Jersey Girls will be coached again by Craig “Magic” Phillis in 2020 and all the girls are looking forward to the new season, training will probably commence in early February 2020. The Jersey Girls are hoping to move up a couple of places on the ladder in 2020.
