It isn’t that often that brothers get to play footy in the same team and it isn’t that often that 3 brothers get to do so in a Grand Final.

The Quinns, Jack, Josh and Will are set to line up for the Harden Red Devils this Saturday against favourites the Cootamundra Tri-Colours.

The Quinn name is synonymous with Rugby League in the area with a number of the Quinns playing group 9 over the last 4 decades. Father Mick and uncles Chris, Sam and John all played Group 9 Rugby League with Sam winning the 2008 Weissel medal whilst playing for Junee.

All of the current crop of Quinns come come from Rugby League backgrounds, however, they are combining in an attempt to help the Devils go back to back in 2019.

Eldest of the 3, Josh said, “It’s fun, this is the first time we have played together. It’s pretty good to run out with my brothers, we are very lucky.”

Jack is in his second year and was on the bench in his first year learning the game until he cemented the Hooking role from the start of the season with some very good performances.

Josh said, “He has really come on the last month and hopefully has his best game of the year on Saturday.”

Will Quinn  is 6 foot 4 and tips the scales at around 114 kilograms. Since joining the Devils this year the former Rugby League Front Rower has turned himself into a Second Rower with partner Toby Hayden.

Josh said, “He isn’t a small human being, its good to see he has realised where to use his size and strength. His tacking is his best attribute coming from league and he is firing come the finals series.”

Josh  played Rugby in the Devil’s U17 side several moons ago and is backing up from last year’s win. He has overcome serious injury to continue his career and will be looking to set the Devils a blaze from the back.

You can expect there to be plenty of celebrations in Harden if the Devils can win the Grand Final. The Quinns have a very big extended family.
