The Harden Hawks travelled to the nation’s capital to take on the 7th placed Boomanulla Raiders on Saturday. Harden sit in 3rd place with 8 wins from 11 matches and it was always going to be hard on the Canberrans on their home field.
It was one way traffic from the start with the Hawks piling on 32 points in the first half before coming out and adding another 32 in the second half. Harden 64, Boomanulla 10. Jordan Hammond and Luke Brown lead the way in the first half and it was a team effort as 8 individuals made it on to the scoring list. Doubles went to Drew Arabin, Brown and Ben Davis, while Chris Salway, Michael West, Pat Smith, Jono Pouono and Matt Holmes each got a meat pie.
Eddie Jenkins kicked 9 from 10 in a beautiful display off the boot. The Harden Hawks will enjoy a bye alongside the Hawkettes before they return to McLean Oval on July 13 to face the struggling Gunning Roos.
The Harden Hawks will be holding their 2009 Premiership, 10 year reunion on Saturday July 13 at 2pm at McLean Oval. The upstairs area will welcome back a squad of over 20 players from the 2009 Grand Final win against Bungendore.
