Wombat is gearing up for another successful year of events in the village.
This coming month The Wombat Social Group Association will host Christmas in July on the 25th at the Wombat Hotel from 5.30pm. The social group will be supporting Young’s 2019 Cherry King Entrant David Munnerley that is raising much needed funds for Hilltops Suicide Prevention. Cassells-Potts. Luke Dickens will be performing on the night from 6.30pm. Non Social Club Members can buy tickets for $15pp including entertainment and meal. RSVP must be made for catering purposes by 15th July by contacting the Wombat Hotel or Social Club Facebook page.
Full Bistro Menu from the Wombat Hotel will still be open to the general public.
On June 15 Wombat Residents were entertained by travelling signer SAMI. Former Young Resident Sami Cooke is an Australian, Canadian, New Zealand travelling singer, songwriter and musician that sung her little heart out to the strong community of Wombat. A great night was had by all.
The Wombat Hotel Joker Draw is now up to a massive $4,250 so get out to Wombat on Friday night to grab some tickets and support a great little pub.
The Wombat Hotel Social Group recently handed over a donation to Bridie Minehan Student from Hennessy Catholic College and Jennifer Hayes Teacher of Bridie for Hennessy’s upcoming Cambodia Trip. A group of Year 11 students will head off on July 5th for their Annual Cambodia Immersion Trip with the donation of $1,000 from the Social Group going towards the fees included for the students to donate and help to Cambodia Children.
Save The Date for the Wombat Bike Rally on Saturday 19th at the Wombat Sports Ground. All the usual attractions including the bike, car and ute show followed by live entertainment all weekend including Chalkie White, Voodoo Shuffle, Diablo and many more will be performing over the weekend when the gates open on the Friday night through to Sunday. Every 100 bike gets free entry otherwise a small gate fee of $30 will get you camping and a great weekend at Wombat.
