The Canberra Times will be following the lead of many of its sister papers owned by Fairfax media and now owned by Nine, when it places a pay wall up for its online content on June 6 this week.

The website states, “Subscription packages will cost from as little as $3 a week for unlimited articles on any device.

“Premium packages will offer additional exclusive benefits, including access to the digital replica edition of the daily newspaper and interactive puzzles.

From June 6, canberratimes.com.au will offer two subscription packages: premium and basic. Subscriptions can be paid monthly, or you will receive a 20 per cent discount if you sign up for an annual subscription.

“The basic package will offer unlimited articles on any device for $3.75 a week if you pay monthly, or $3 a week if you sign up for an annual subscription.

“The premium package will include unlimited articles at canberratimes.com.au, plus access to the replica edition of the newspaper – allowing iPad and tablet users to flip through every page of each day’s paper and view articles as they appear in printed edition.
