The Harden Murrumburrah Twin Town Rodeo Association has attracted a huge number of entries with over 420 competitors nominated for this Saturday’s event.
280 more will take part on Sunday with the numbers “Way up on last year”, 100 up on each day according to Vice President Zak Leitner, with competitors coming from Queensland and Victoria, with some flying in for the 2 day event.
Major sponsor Peter Joseph from Harden Fuels Supplies will be running a courtesy bus at Midday and 1pm and then dropping spectators back to town later in the night. A gold coin donation will get you on the bus in Harden and $5 each way will get you on the bus if coming from Young or Wombat. The Aussie Hotel and the Wombat Hotel will be pick up points. For those wanting to party into Saturday night Pepperjack will be playing from 8:00pm to midnight with a full open bar available.
The committee have constructed a large amount of shading around the arena with the forecast showing a beautiful 25 degrees.
A mechanical bull and a jumping Castle will be on site as well as food stalls offering steak sandwiches, hotdogs, dagwood dogs, chips and ice cream. Roast beef and roast gravy rolls will be available for dinner on Saturday night.
The Rodeo is celebrating their 4th year and after last year’s very wet event they will be relishing the huge number of entries and great weather.
Zak said, “We have been putting on a good show and the competitors want to keep coming back. It’s the second last round for competitors to get points and win their Australian titles.”
The rodeo will see plenty of locals in action including Bella Cooper, Maddison Johnson, Angel Leitner, Marcus Ashton, Zak Leitner, Jacob Prosser and Grant Miar.
