Hilltops Council is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Edwina Marks as General Manager.

Hilltops Mayor Brian Ingram said, “Dr Marks is highly qualified, has a broad range of skills and extensive experience in Local Government. Edwina showed strong strategic vision during the interview process and I am confident that she will be an asset to the Hilltops region, being the strong leader that we require” 

Edwina has extensive experience in Local Government and has held previous Chief Executive Officer roles at the Barkly Regional Council in the Northern Territory and the Bulloo Shire Council in South West Queensland. She comes to Council with a focus in community engagement, regional development and change management. 

“This will be an exciting opportunity for Edwina to support the Council in providing strong community leadership ensuring that we can achieve our ambitions and potential as a region.” Mayor Ingram said.

Edwina has a Ph.D. in Fine Art from the University of Newcastle and a Master of Business from Charles Sturt University. She has continued her professional development throughout her career, most recently attending senior leadership programs at the Melbourne Business School and is a recent graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

It is anticipated that Dr Marks will officially commence her duties at Hilltops Council on Monday 10 September 2018.

His experience has been invaluable to Council especially in this complex newly amalgamated environment and we wish him well in his future endeavours. I very much look forward to welcoming Edwina to Hilltops and working closely with her.”
