The Twin Town Times is the area’s only locally owned, independent newspaper.

We are a trusted and independent source of local content. We create, and deliver high-quality content that informs, educates and entertains.

The Times’ team is immersed in the local community.  We make distinctive stories and cover events that connect communities and shape lives.  We are about real people, real places and real life.  We have a presence in Print, Facebook and our Website and we use these 3 mediums to cater to our readers and advertising partners.

The role involves work across the week as well as weekend work.

You will:

  • Work collaboratively with the local team and independently and contribute to coverage for audiences in our readership.
  • Create accurate, concise and clear news content, mixed with photography and at times video work. Training will be provided.

About You

To join this team you will need to be a motivated person and a positive team member with a good knowledge of local news, the community and the media. You may be of any age from young adult to retiree. We want the best person.

You will attend events and develop relationships within various organisations.

Communication, time management and organisational skills are integral to meet deadlines and plan cross-platform story coverage. You’ll also be able to demonstrate the below

  • Reporting skills and ability to take photographs which tell a story.
  • A self-starter, able to work effectively in a small team.
  • Embrace the brief to deliver agenda setting coverage.
