Bunyip Preschool in Harden is to receive $15,000 through a Quality Learning Environments grant, that will allow them to re-floor their facility. Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke celebrated the announcement on Friday, by visiting the local preschool. Bunyip Preschool Director Heather Gammon said the funding would be used to replace the existing blue tiles with a light wooden colour vinyl that would uplift the rooms.
The Preschool was one of seven in the electorate that received funding under the program, with facilities in Young, Cootamundra, Gundagai and Junee also receiving grants of up to $15,000. The Quality Learning Environments program aims to support services to enhance their preschool premises by addressing identified safety, health or other functional needs related to the preschool’s physical environment. Minister for Early Childhood Education Sarah Mitchell said that the response from the sector the Quality Learning Environments fund has been overwhelmingly positive. “Not only will this funding improve the quality of the learning environment for children right across the state, parents can also rest assured that their children are having the best start to their educational journeys as possible,” she said.
