Class representatives spoke on multicultural topics at the Murrumburrah Public School Public Speaking Assembly recently. The quality and perspectives of the speeches were of a high calibre. A huge congratulations must got to the primary students who were very brave to present their speeches in front of such a large audience.

Emma Edwards said, “I’m sure you will agree that we will have some very confident and entertaining speeches in the years to come.” There were many proud teachers, parents and grandparents that attended the special assembly and an outstanding effort was shown by all students who took on the challenge and prepared a speech for this event. Heidi O’Connor, Brooke Emms, Sybella Lenehan and Harrison Shorrock are the four finalists from Stage Two and Three chosen to present their speeches at the Regional Multicultural Public Speaking Competition in Cootamundra on 22 June.

Emma said, “The quality and delivery of their speeches were outstanding. They were selected by the invited adjudicators, high school students Abbey Wade and Maria Raptis and well-respected former Principal, Mr Barry Wooldridge. The Public Speaking Program is one of MPS’ cultural events celebrated each year with pride and great enthusiasm. The school would like to congratulate all students who presented speeches in their class and all students will be rewarded with a 5 Star Award for their participation in the Public Speaking Program.
