One of Aurville’s Icons, Thelma Blundell celebrated her 90th birthday on Wednesday at the Harden Murrumburrah Nursing Home. She was surrounded by her nieces and nephews and extended family who were preparing to tuck into a tasty afternoon tea and birthday cake. Dressed in pink she was having the time of her life catching up with her relatives who had travelled to be with her. Her nieces Dot Farnesworth, Judy McGlynn, and Joyce Mc Grath and nephews Michael Blundell and Joe Blundell are all descendants of the Blundells from Aurville, a well-known and respected family in the area. Thelma had lived every day of her life at home until she came into town upon the death of her sister Maggie. I am sure that Thelma would have seen many changes in her 90 years. Happy Birthday, Thelma.
