Lewis Shea isn’t turning 9 until June 10, yet the year 3 student is displaying an ability which is rivalling that of boys much older than him.

Lewis said, “it’s a fun sport, I like to go fast and go over jumps.”
The youngster has been riding motorbikes for 4 years and is proving to be highly talented, earning himself a spot at the State Titles in Port Macquarie in June.
He recently took out the Wanabrook series which encompasses Leeton, Wagga, Griffith, Tumbarumba, and Holbrook, which is a series between all of the regional clubs.
He recorded 2 first placings and a second placing, winning outright across the 7-9 year old 50cc High Power Class.
30 Gold tickets are handed out across 6 venues across the State each year with Lewis securing his at Young just over a week ago, ensuring his place at State.

Lewis had a little ‘stack’ last week, but that wasn’t enough to hold him back. He jumped back on his bike and kept racing, albeit with a fat lip.
He is looking forward to going away and said, “I want to win the whole thing.”
He currently trains with Sam Shea and James Bezgrove and does his best to take it up to the older boys.

Lewis is currently sponsored by Guttervac which is owned by his proud father Damien.
Lewis is hoping a special racing oil can be produced for his bike which will bring the cost of racing down from $75 to around $15 or $20. The oil can be expensive as is the high octane fuel used to power his bike. The racing game is quite expensive and anyone who would like to sponsor Lewis can. His ability is very quickly realised when visiting the family’s track just outside of Harden and witnessing his speed and agility. He is fearless and takes on the course with the skill of a rider much older than his humble 8 years.
With the main southern railway line on one side and some cattle on the other, Lewis is fine tuning his skills which may take him very far in his chosen sport.
