The Murrumburrah Harden Show Society is gearing up to celebrate its 130th Springtime Show this September, and has organised a special event for those planning to attend in the form of a fireworks display. The Society has teamed up with Mr Boom Boom Fireworks of Wollongong, in order to celebrate the major milestone and bring a new element of fun to one of Murrumburrah Harden’s best family fundays.
A Night Show and Fireworks Display will be held in the evening, after the daytime activities have drawn to a close. The new event will see a variety of entertainment throughout the evening, with team challenges for local community groups and individuals among the proposed events. The pavilion will remain open throughout the evening, and a full bar facility will be available to allow parents and grandparents unwind. Show Society secretary, Sarah Jones, said they conducted research within the community to see what changes or new events they would like to see, and the overwhelming response was in favour of nighttime events.
“We hope that by having events during the evening, families who have prior commitments throughout the day will be able to attend and join in the fun,” Sarah said. The official opening and showgirl presentations will occur later in the afternoon, allowing more people to be there for the special event. The Society is currently looking for sponsors for the Nighttime Show, with advertising packages, VIP Entry and other bonuses available.
One major sponsor will be able to attain the naming rights for the new event, an excellent advertising opportunity. The Show will occur on Saturday, September 8 and will have all daytime events as usual, including petting zoo, food vendors, market stalls, side-show alley and assortment of other attractions.
There will also be a variety of free activities for the little-ones. As we draw closer to the event, the Show Society plans to arrange some activities with local schools, to encourage more pavilion entries. Everyone is encouraged to keep an eye on the Society’s Facebook page for all updates, including the imminent launch of a new website. A Show Ball is also being planned for the evening before the Show, with further updates to come. Anyone interested in holding a food or market stall at the show, or sponsoring the event, is encouraged to contact Sarah Jones on 0459 708 791.
