On Friday 2 March a service was held at the Light Horse Memorial when a plaque was presented in memory of the centenary of the Kangaroo March which was held in 1915, recruiting men for the Western Front during World War 1. This march was between Wagga and Yass, with a camp in Murrumburrah on 10 December 2015. Councillor Horton welcomed all to the event. Lorraine Brown spoke about the September 2015 re-enactment and then introduced Angela Williamson who sang a stirring rendition of ‘She Who Gives Her Son,’ before presenting the plaque to Lorraine Brown and Wal Bradford. Although short, it was quite a moving ceremony. Trinity and Murrumburrah Primary school students were present for the service, with teachers. Apologies were made from Jugiong and Wombat schools.
