On Saturday Harden Murrumburrah was privileged to be selected to host a rare double header of the Andrew Johns U16’s Cup and Laurie Daley U18’s Cup, showcasing some of the best young talent coming through in NSW. There were 4 games in all and a large crowd turned up at Robert’s Park to watch some great bush Rugby League. The Monaro Colts V Western Rams U/16’s were first up. The Western Rams continuing their dominance with a resounding win, 30-6.
Next was the U/18’s Monaro Colts V Western Rams with the Colts turning the tables in a entertaining high-scoring match winning 38-24. The local side, the Riverina Bulls, then took on the Penrith Panthers in the 16’s with the Penny Panthers running out big winners 42-18. The Bulls boys turned the tables on the Panthers in their previous match winning 30-22.
On behalf of Harden Murrumburrah Junior League we just wanted to say a huge thanks to all our committee members and volunteers who helped out, and also to the Hilltops Shire staff for working with us to turn Robert’s Park into a picturesque Rugby League ground, all your efforts didn’t go unnoticed, with a number of visitors and CRL officials commenting on how good the ground looked and how successful the day was. Thank you to the Roberts Park Trust, Touch Footy and Junior Soccer for allowing us to use your facility; thank you all for contributing and putting our small town on the map for our visitors.
