Councillor Rita O’Connor, where she attended the opening of the Trinity Catholic School Parliament for 2018 last Monday.

Councillor Rita O’Connor is hosting an event on International Women’s Day, in Harden on Friday 9th March. It will be held at the Murrumburrah Court House 6.30 – 7.00pm and will cost $5.

She said, “Basically, I want to have an evening where we celebrate being women, especially rural women. It will be a basket supper so feel free to invite some gal-pals and come along.” There will be guest speakers on the night and nomination forms are available from Rita for you to nominate your inspirational woman of the year.  She said, “As part of the night I thought it would be fun to collate 100 stories of women living in Harden and what their experience of life is. I thought I’d title it, “One Hundred Hearts of Harden” (and I know not everyone lives in Harden town, but it’s really the old Harden Shire that I was thinking about).” So, if you would like to be one of the 100 women this is what you will need to do –

1. Write a page (no more than 500 words) about your life in Harden. It can be a specific event, a general overview or whatever you live about living here.

2. Email it to me as soon as possible – I’m happy to proofread and collate and I’ll get it printed so everyone can get a copy on the night.

3. Share this email with any gal-pals from the old Harden shire so they have a chance to write their piece if they would like to. It would be great to get young, old and everything in between.

4. Email me or text on 0407227140 if you intend on attending the evening so I can organise tables and chairs.

Let me know if it’s a single or group booking. Let me know if you’d like any more details or even better if you want to help. Rita O’Connor rita.oconnor@hilltops.nsw.gov.au 0407 227 140
