18 teams faced the starter in the Holden Scramble in its 25th year of operation. Local sponsor Jamie Harden and his trusty team from Harden Geelan Holden were on hand to offer cash back vouchers on new Holdens, offer a steak or sausage sizzle and talk red hot deals on a new Holden. The course was dry, the run was long but the greens were receptive. This always makes good conditions for a Scramble with everybody trying to steal birdies and eagles wherever they can. Our local winning team and now off to the Regional Finals in Canberra later in the year were Tom Poole, Dan McGrath, Anthony Smith and Mark Parker. These boys combined handicap and a skilful day on the course to bring home a staggering 54.125 nett. Good luck at regionals fellas and we hope you give it a shake to get to the National finals.

The team taking 3rd in the prizes section was Bernie Parker, Jamie Parker, Ian Bruce and Graham Martin-Dye who shot 56.5 nett. Tough day out if you were not hitting greens and sinking putts. Nearest the Pins for the day were on the 5th – John Hawkins (2.69m), on the 10th – Matt Stewart (2.3m) and on the 18th – Cameron Jones (3.7m). Clubs represented on the day included Harden, Young, Cootamundra, Boorowa, Yass, Canberra, and Wollongong. Sponsor Jamie was very appreciative of the hard work put in by the Club to make the day so special and well supported.
