Trinity’s Annual Swimming Carnival was held in scorching temperatures last Thursday at the local pool. The heat did not deter Trinity’s swimmers from participating eagerly and cheering on their teammates all day. Once again the support given by parents, community members and past students was overwhelming and contributed to the carnival’s success. The Gold House was declared the overall winners breaking a lengthy 20 year GOLD RUSH swimming drought! Red finished in second place and Blue a close third.
The parent/staff/ex-student relay attracted much interest with a record six teams taking to the pool for the much sought after title. This event undoubtedly delivered limitless entertainment for the students and spectators during the lunch break and continues to grow in size and competitiveness each year! Well done to Kaitlin Peiper, James Bowman, Patrick Davis and James Collins for bringing home the gold for Gold! Angus Whybrow, Billy Corkhill and Letitia Tyrrell were presented with special encouragement trophies for their outstanding participation and efforts on the day. The senior students were also commended on their participation and support of the infants students in their 12m and 25m events.
The Sports Captains, Bella Cooper, Oscar Phillis, Josie Davis-Chard, Ty Leitner, Brody Schofield and Zarlie Quinn did an amazing job leading house chants and encouraging their teams all day. Trinity’s Swimming Champions and Runners Up for 2018 were: Junior Boy Champion Chaz Cooper and Runner up Dean Starling. Junior Girl Champion Talia McKay and Runner up Tilly Bowman. Intermediate Boy Champion Christian Johnson. Intermediate Girl Champion Amber McKay and Runner up Sara Collins. Senior Girl Champion Georgia Squire-Wilson and Runner up Bella Cooper.
