Mitch Brown, Beau Abnett, Philip Woodhead, James Woodhead and Shane Abnett. Harden Cricket training has enjoyed the use of the Woodhead’s bowling machine. The Harden Cricket Association is planning on purchasing a similar system themselves in the near future.
The Harden Hornets have suffered their first defeat of 2018 with a 29th over loss to Murrumbateman.
Murrumbateman won the toss and sent the Harden side in to bat.
Kai Steel provided his regular stoic display and put on 14 runs and was assisted with a contribution of 3 from Martin Brown. Paul Potts added another 25 before Daniel Pumpa put on a nice innings of 30 with James Woodhead assisting with 13 more runs.
Unfortunately things fell away for Harden soon after, with the final 6 batsmen adding 13 runs between them. The tail failed to wag which left the Hornets at 9 for 114 at the end of their 40 overs.
Murrumbateman set about chasing the tally and wasted no time losing just 3 wickets for 117 runs, using just 29 overs to do so at a run rate of 4 an over.
Catches were taken for Harden by Pumpa and youngster Bud Abnett with James Woodhead providing 2 wickets for 16 runs off his 6 overs.
The Harden side will have a week off via the rostered bye before hosting the Aussie Pirates at Tim Doolan Oval on February 3 at midday.
The Hornets currently sit in 5th position in the 9 team competition.
