2017 is gearing up to be one of the biggest shows yet! The Murrumburrah Harden Show is continuing to provide its community with a range of events. Generous sponsorship has once more enabled this anticipated local event to occur. It has its foundation and well-loved events such as its Horse Events, Dog Show, Yard Dog Trials, Cattle, Sheep, Bird and Poultry Pavilions. For those who have a creative flair, the Main Show Pavilion offers a plethora of events to enter and display your talent and skills. Bringing back the Woodchopping and Tug-A-War to the show this year has seen contestants scrambling for entry. With only five a side in the Tug-A-War, this event should see teams from all ages having an enjoyable time together.
The Women’s Nail Driving Contest is a new event and it has been heard on the grapevine that some ladies in the community are already practicing ready for the competition. Wishing to fully engage its youth, Murrumburrah Harden Show Society is providing old favourite games such as Egg and Spoon, Potato Race, Coits, Hoop Race and Horse Shoe Toss. The Decorated Pushbike competition hopes to see outstanding bikes of all descriptions, dressed up for the show.
Face Painting, Mechanical Bull and the Friendship Farm have proved to be very popular in the past and are again featured at the show. All children’s events are free! Have you been one of those people who can visualise hay bales as something else again? Could you decorate one so it looks like a garden, tractor, car, caterpillar or something else amazing? Opportunity awaits you this year! Bring along an armful of decorations to the show and enter the Decorated Hay Bale Competition.
Ten minutes of fun could win you a handy prize! Side Show Alley will have activities for young and old. Don’t forget to buy hot chips, hot dog or ice-cream from the vendors! Local groups catering hot food are available throughout the show, plenty of food for everyone! Don’t forget the stalls with goods to sell! Always a wide variety of goods and interesting displays. Plenty to see and do at the Murrumburrah Harden Show this year. Not long to go! 8th September 2017 for entries and 9th September 2017 the main show day.
