Out of School Hours care or OOSH is a community based not for profit organisation. It is offering a holiday program from 3 July to 17 July and spaces are filling fast. Holiday hours are from 8 am to 5.30 pm and the rate is $45 per day. With CCR + CCB you may pay as little as $8 per day. During school term opening hours are 7.30am till 9am and 3pm until 6pm. Before school you may pay as little as $4 in the morning and $5 after school, with CCR+CCR. The Program is based on an educational framework “My Time, My Place”. The centre is in the process of hiring a new coordinator at the moment Teacher Shannon Manwaring said, “The children are supplied afternoon tea which is created by our cook Bernadette Ryan at Bunyip. They get really healthy foods based on a nutritional plan. Also getting something naughtier like chocolate cake sometimes. We do some group activities and choose inside or outside depending on the weather. We have a strong focus on homework and sit down and help the children do it. Some choose to do it with their parents. We do plenty of arts and crafts. The program has been going for over 12 months and it is really good for the community with some parents working back late. A lot of the children get picked up quite late in the day and it’s a great opportunity for the families to make use of the service.
