Don Jamieson was recognised for 20 years of service Sunday July 9 at St Paul’s Church. Don was ordained in 1997 at St. Saviours Cathedral in Goulburn. He has worked within the church community in Harden since and spent 2 years as a volunteer at the Centre for Ageing and Pastoral studies in Canberra. He spent 3 years as a member of the episcopal task force on older people and ministry. He co-wrote a book on pastoral care of frail older people to present to the diocese which accompanied a report on older people in ministry. Don said “It has kept me active although I am beginning to feel my 78 years, so I am slowing down a bit.” Guest speaker for Sunday was Arch Deacon Caroline Campbell who is the head of the house hold of deacons in the diocese. A cup of tea and biscuit was available for those who attended and celebrated Don’s contribution.
