Kyle Murray congratulates out going President of the Deep Hole Fishing Club, Mick Whittington on his Life Membership of the Club. Kyle will now head up the committee as President.
The Harden Deep Hole Fishing Club held their AGM at the Harden Bowling Club on Sunday and farewelled President Mick Whittington from his role as President. At the same time the club honoured him with Life Membership. Incoming President Kyle Murray said “Mick’s done everything, he has built the club from the ground up. A lot of big projects have been completed under his reign. I’m just happy to keep it going for him, he has done a great job. He has done a lot over the years.”
The new committee marks a change for local committees in that nearly all of the newly appointed office holders are under 30 years of age. The new committee is President – Kyle Murray, Vice President- Tommy Hawkins, Secretary/Treasurer-Shauny Murray whilst club stalwart Craig Cooper will look after the role of Publicity Officer.
Kyle said “Anyone in the community is welcome to join the Harden Deephole Fishing Club.”
The club also hires out huts at Burrinjuck dam. He said “We have sponsored a lot of good causes including the Greg Whitehead Fishing Challenge in August. We hold bbq stalls at the Harden Dog Show and the Harden Picnic Races.”
The club also holds 3 wood raffles each year including a monster load which is up for grabs at the moment. The 10ft by 5ft load small truck load is creating a lot of interest.
Tickets are available at Cooper’s Butchery and Harden Fuel Supplies. The The club will be selling tickets in Neill Street on June 17 to be drawn on June 18 at the Harden Bowling Club.
