The need for a large mower with the capacity to mow the Murrumburrah Showground has been met with user groups banding together to raise money, before purchasing a zero turn mower recently. Courtney Jones of the Harden Pony Club joined forces with the Harden Horse Trials Association before sending a letter to the Kruger Trust, who supported the venture. Along with the Show Society and the Truck and Tractor Show, funding was accumulated to purchase the piece of equipment from McInerney Motors in Young. A shed will soon be constructed to house the mower on the Showground site. Courtney said, “We self funded the mower and with the assistance of the Trust, It’s a huge asset to the Showground. We can keep the grounds neat and tidy and everyone can benefit from it.” The user groups had previously brought in their own personal mowers or had to pay for it to be mown. She said, “It is very comfortable, it stops the mowing from being a chore. We can do the oval in a couple of hours now.”
