The Jersey Girls were good even though they lost their league-tag match 12-10 to the Roverettes. Considering a severe dusting in a trial match earlier in the year at the hands of the Boorowa girls, the Jerseys played a more simplified catch and pass game. Ange Taylor and Cherrae Smith took the ball up strongly and made handy line breaks. In support Kelsey Dowling put in some darting runs along with Ali Spencer but it was Tara McGrath-West and Steph Cribb who scored a try each in the second half, Ali Spencer landed a conversion. Some of the girls are still coming to a halt with the ball in the belief they had been tagged when they had not, it’s best to let the ref call you back. But all in all a good performance. This Saturday the Brahmans are at home against The UC Grissleys at Binalong Rec Ground, League Tag is 1:00pm, first grade 2:00pm, full canteen and bar available. bos Indicus.
