Harden’s Jim Honner will prove crucial to the Devils in 2017 with the talented backrower proving himself as a work horse in 2016.
The Harden Red Devils will kick off their 2017 regular season by taking on Grenfell this Saturday in their first competition game. President Harry Sachs said “The majority of our players have come from the local area and we have brought in four players from Canberra to bolster the squad, but we are trying to keep it a local club. All of our lady players are local bar one.” With a move from the South Coast Monaro Competition to the Central West Competition, Sachs is excited at what 2017 holds for the club. He is himself recovering from a second knee re construction and said he may pull the boots on at some stage this year. Harry, Ash Halls and John Manchester attended a Brumbies training session on Tuesday to learn some new training techniques. Whilst there, Sachs spoke to Stepehn Larkham about the Devils securing the services of Brumbies player and local resident Josh Mann-Rea. Harry joked with Steven Larkham on the night and asked if he could sign Josh to The Harden Red Devils. Larkham’s response was that he can make an enquiry after August 2019. The Devils will have 23 players ready to go with a kick off set down for 2:30pm Saturday. The Club is awaiting a final draw to see if the She Devils will take the field on Saturday, however, a bar and bbq will be in operation on the day. Good Luck Devils!
