Trinity’s Annual Swimming Carnival was held last Thursday in beautiful sunshine, an ideal day for swimming. All students from Kinder to Year 6 participated enthusiastically, cheering and supporting their team members. The support given by parents, community members and past students was overwhelming and contributed to the carnival’s success. The Red House was declared the overall winners with Gold finishing in second place and Blue a close third. Once again the parent/staff/ex-student relay attracted much interest with four teams participating. This event certainly provided some great entertainment for the students and spectators during the lunch break. Riley Jackson and Dean Starling were presented with special encouragement trophies for their outstanding participation and effort on the day. The senior students were also commended on their participation and support of the infants students in their 12m and 25m events. The Sports Captains, Maddison Johnson, Tykieta Leitner, Angelina Mayhew-Lang and Charlotte Wegman did a superb job in leading house chants and encouraging their teams all day. Trinity’s Swimming Champions and Runners Up for 2017 were: Junior Boy Champion Chaz Cooper and Runner up Christian Johnson. Junior Girl Champion Lotte Muldoon and Runner up Sara Collins. Intermediate Boy Champion Oscar Phillis and Runner up Hunter Bowman. Intermediate Girl Champion Georgia Squire-Wilson and Runner up Bella Cooper. Senior Girl Champion Maddison Johnson and Runner up Tykieta Leitner. Twenty students are representing Trinity Catholic School at the Western Region Carnival in Cootamundra today against eleven other schools in the region.
