A 3 year old boy has died after being accidentally run over by a driver believed to be his father.
The 41-year-old man was behind the wheel when the car left the driveway of a home in Cootamundra on Tuesday afternoon.
A NSW Police Force statement said the driver was unaware that the 3 year old boy had been run over and seriously injured.
The boy was taken to hospital but later passed away.
News about the tragic death was only just filtering through the town this morning.
The driver has undergone mandatory blood and urine tests.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
