Simone Ward at the Homestead Style store, next to Botanica Romantica in Harden. Garielle and Simone Ward opened the shop early this week after Retta’s closed down the previous week.
Retta’s fashion shop has been providing the ladies of Harden with stylish fashions for the past 20 years, so it was with great sadness and an enormous sense of loss when Loretta closed her business last week.
Not wanting to see Harden and surrounds lose its well established fashion store, Simone Ward stepped in, took a leap of faith and decided that the business, located at 44 Neill Street Harden, should be reopened.
Simone said “we loved the friendly and helpful service that Retta’s provided, and knew that any purchase from Retta’s would be of excellent quality from a highly regarded fashion label. In our new business we hope that we can continue this tradition of excellent service and high quality garments of style. “We also didn’t want to see another empty shop front in Neill Street, as this gives such a negative impression of our town to visitors and locals alike.
“We intend to continue stocking all time favourites such as Yarra Trail, Goondawindi Cotton and Jump, with an emphasis on natural fabrics. We are also adding several new labels to the range, and expanding the selection of fashion accessories with scarves of silk and wool, fun and colourful jewellery, and beautiful leather bags. “We intend opening on the weekends – both Saturdays and Sundays – so that the time poor shopper can browse at leisure.
We are currently selecting our new winter stock, so stay tuned for the latest fashion offerings. But until then, call by to grab a bargain as the summer stock is drastically reduced and there is still time to pick up an item or two of stylish and cool summer clothes at amazing prices.
“We will be now known as The Homestead Style and we hope to see you soon.” Simone is not alone in wanting to thank Loretta for setting such a high standard of fashion and quality for the last 20 years, and she will endeavour to be able to live up to the same high standard.
