Member for Orange Philip Donato with his sons. The former Policeman is now famous for knocking off the Nationals’ candidate, Scott Barrett and securing the seat for the Shooters Fishers and Farmers Party.

The Shooters Fishers and Farmers Party will be taking on Katrina Hodgkinson in the 2019 State election. Party representatives told the Twin Town Times this week, “ We are completely opposed to forced council amalgamations. This has been our position since the agenda was flagged in 2011. It appears some headway has been made to halt the Government’s agenda on this with the Nationals’ Leader, flagging changes in their policy. Despite this, we will press on with our bill to reverse any forced council mergers on a majority plebiscite vote, and halt any forced mergers in the pipeline at the moment. We are still receiving counsel on the specifics of the bill. The bill can pass the Upper House with the support of Labor, Greens and CDP. All these parties have gone on the record against forced council amalgamations. We will be fielding candidates across regional NSW at the next state election, with the plan of replicating what occurred in Orange.
