Oliver and Scott Spackman with ‘Didn’t Even Kiss Me’

Scott Spackman has a lovely little filly on his hands called Didn’t Even Kiss Me. The former Harden man now training in Wagga has been running his own stable for 4 years years. He has always had a passion for horses and rode trackwork as a 17 year old. Scott is well known for riding Money Road to win the 1993 Harden Picnic Cup as a 23 year old.

His jockey days are over but he is starting to make owners and other trainers in southern NSW sit up and take notice. Scott has the rare ability of being able to work a horse out. He has had several owners come to him from other trainers, wanting him to get their horse a win. Didn’t Even Kiss Me came over from another trainer to Scott’s stable. He gave her a spell and then brought her back in. He said “She needed some more education, she was a bit immature, so we worked with her and she quickly worked out what racing was all about.” She went on to have 2 consecutive 2nd placings before she hit the top of the podium. She has now won her last 3 races for Spackman. 1400 metres seems to suit her down to the ground. With a win at Cootamundra and 2 wins at Wagga, all in December last year.

The 3 year old filly has now had 8 starts in her career for 3 wins and 2 seconds. She has collected over $60,000 worth of prizemoney for connections. “When she won the showcase race we knew we had a very good little horse and she pulled up very well. We knew she could be competitive.” Scott has 12 horses in work at the moment and enjoys having a smaller stable where he can really focus on the horses. Race fans will have to keep their eyes out for Scott’s little filly. Big things are planned for her.
