Harden Red Devils President Harry Sachs with Light Horse Hotel Publican Eric Francis at the hotel on Tuesday.

The Harden Red Devils will be back at the Light Horse Hotel in 2017 with the Murrumburrah Hotel coming on board as the 2017 major sponsor. The Harden Country Club will be a minor sponsor.

Oxton Park, Kingsvale Supremes and Sachs Rural Contracting will take up positions on the jumper sleeves and shorts.

The Club is excited at the prospect of fielding a ladies side in 2017, who will commence training this Friday, at Robert’s Park at 730pm. A start date for the men’s side has not yet been set, however, a sign on day will be held at the Light Horse Hotel on January 28, commencing at 230pm with a BBQ. The aim for the club will be to take part in the Coota 10s on March 18. President Harry Sachs said “We want players to come and have a run at Coota and their is no pressure to play the whole season.

Just see if you like it or not. We want the club to build a strong family culture and a relaxed attitude. We definitely take our Rugby seriously but it’s all about having fun and socialising.”

The Devils will play 15 matches this season in the Central West Competition with 8 home games and 7 away games. The first match is a home game against Grenfell on April 8. The club will not have to travel to Condobolin in 2017, however, they will travel to Blayney once and West Wyalong twice.

Harry said “It’s all over by the start of September. Ash Halls will be coming down during the season on Tuesday nights to assist with fitness whilst Clint Stevens and John Manchester will co-coach the men’s side.”

Emma Madge will be coming over from Young this Friday to lend a hand with the ladies side. If you would like to know more about Harden Rugby call Harry on 0428 862 713.
