Trish and Robbie Anderson with a horse early in their training careers.
Named after Trish and Rob’s daughter Chloe, Chloe’s Puppet rallied strongly to score by a short head in a photo finish at Wagga on January 9.
The 40 to 1 shot had little chance of winning according to book makers, however, no one told the 4 year old mare what the humans thought of her chance of winning.
In her 8th start she was able to claim her maiden win in the Jam Media Maiden Plate over 1200 metres. Trish Anderson passed away less than 3 weeks before the win after battling cancer for several years.
Jockey Brad Clarke had ridden for Trish many times in his career and was ecstatic at being able to guide the mare home for Chloe and Rob. Chloe’s Puppet’s track work had not impressed Rob during the week and he was nearly going to leave her at home. However, the little mare found her best on the day to get the win for the Anderson stables against all odds.
Maybe she had a little help on that particular day. Congratulations Rob and Chloe.
