The Harden Hunting Club completed their 2016 season with a presentation ceremony and some tasty platters at the Light Horse Hotel on Sunday. Club President Rod Howe was on hand with Club Secretary Peter ‘Porky’ Allen to present long standing committee member and former Secretary Don Armitstead with life membership of the organisation. When asked what Don does for the club Rod was full of praise “Everything! If you had a club full of Dons you would be laughing. Between him and Stan Murray they do all of the mowing.” He went on to say Don opens up the club for every practice shoot. He just does what is needed, he doesn’t need to be asked he takes it upon himself and gets it done. He keeps the club in perfect condition. Don stepped down as Secretary of the Harden Hunting Club in October after 8 years of service. Rod said “It’s a big responsibility and a big task the role of Secretary, you have to deal with all of the compliance issues a club like ours has to adhere to. He did a great job.

Peter ‘Porky’ Allen has taken on the role of Secretary since Don finished up and has been very busy of late.” The Harden Hunting club is in a very good financial position with excellent facilities. Rod said “We are always looking for more members and we have over a hundred with the club.
