HIGH FIRE DANGERĀ

8 December 2016

The NSW Rural Fire Service (NSWRFS) are warning residents in the Cootamundra, Young, Harden and Boorowa areas to be highly vigilant as fire danger in the South West Slopes Zone will escalate on today.

With high wind predicted the potential for fire activity has increased. Superintendent Dillon asked that people avoid activities that could start fires stating that large, dangerous fires can start from something as simple as a spark from grinding, welding, soldering or gas cutting. The Harden Fire Control Centre is urging people not to undertake this type of work, in the open, today.

If you have any questions please contact the Harden Fire Control Centre on 6386 3170.
