Carrington Hotel Sponsorship Facilitator Mick Alexander, with Harden Hawks Rugby League Football Club President Jason Pollard and Carrington Hotel Operations Manager and Accommodation Coordinator, Lisa Johnson. The Carrington Hotel have secured the major sponsorship of the Football club for the 2017 season.  Mick and Lisa will be assisted by staff members Brendan Graham  and Ilecia Longford. Three grades will now frequent the pub with the Youth League, Ladies League Tag and First Grade sides preparing for the upcoming season. The Hawks have been very successful on the paddock in 2016 with all three grades making it to their respective Grand Finals, with both the Youth League and the First Grade side suffering narrow losses. The Ladies League Tag claimed their maiden Premiership and the club looks set to tackle 2017 under new First Grade coach Matt McLay and what looks to be an expanded competition of 12 teams.

Club President Jason Pollard said “We would like to thank the Harden Country Club for their sponsorship and everything they have done to assist the club over many seasons. The Football club is excited to be working with the Carrington in 2017 and it is a fresh change for the club. We have 3 grades performing very well and we will be looking to get our teams to the Grand Finals again in 2017.”

The Carrington’s Operations Manager Lisa Johnson is very excited to be welcoming the Hawks to the Carrington “This is a turning point for the Football club and the Carrington Hotel and we will ensure that both the club and the Carrington can grow together. We hope to have a long relationship with the club and would like to welcome the new club members to the hotel.”

Lisa said “We have daily specials at $12 at lunch time, we are open 6 nights for dinner and 7 days for lunch. We have a pool comp and a darts comp as well as meat raffles on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights and we welcome people to become members of the Hotel.” She said “If we acheive our revenue targets we may look to re open the Royal drive through bottle shop amongst a few other plans. We would like to get people in to the Carrington.

The deal with the Carrington is based around patronage, it’s simple, if the club and the town support us we can support them as well.” Lisa encouraged other clubs and organisations to get in contact with Mick Alexander whose role is the sponsorship facilitator. Lisa said the Carrington employs 16 people across the bar staff, restaurant, management and junior staff. “We normally have 2 juniors working in the restaurant but we have 4 now and the restaurant has a very good reputation.”

Mick Alexander said “The staff and I are very excited to have the Hawks with us for next season, they can call the Carrington home. We wish them all the best in the 2017 season and will be doing our best to make it a great year.”

The Hawks will be holding a sign on day on January 14 at the Carrington. The club is inviting all players, sponsors and supporters for a bbq and a few drinks. Coach Matt McLay said “ It will be a great opportunity for everyone to get together before the season kicks off.”
