Harden’s Alex Stewart will be fulfilling a family dream of lining up with his cousin Michael Weyman in a Grand Final. Weyman, a former Canberra Raider, St George Dragon, and Hull Prop also played for Country New South Wales, New South Wales, and Australia.
Alex celebrated his 21st birthday this year and the young forward and former Harden Hawk will be looking to send his older cousin Weyman out a winner. Weyman will be hanging his boots up after the game.
The coach of the Moruya Sharks is none other than Alex’s other cousin Tim Weyman. Tim speakes highly of his brother and the positive influence he has had on the young side. “Michael knows the game he has a lot of experience and it allows the younger forwards and players in the side to get on the back of his style of play. ”
Alex has been growing his game further since joining his family members at the club. He picked up the rookie of the year at the Group 16 awards ceremony recently and his no nonsense game highlights he will be a forward to fear during his career.
The community of Harden Murrumburah wish Alex and the Weyman family all the best in the Grand Final on Sunday. The match will be held at Bega Recreational ground at 3:30pm Sunday
