Jugiong locals, Sandra and Will Weston, and Erin Nisbit have had their talent recognised and hard-work rewarded with their selection in the National Polocrosse Squad. They will be part of the Australian team that will compete at the 2019 Polocrosse World Cup to be held in Warwick, Queensland.
The three players, all members of the Jugiong Polocrosse Club, have long been known for their immense talent on the field, having all participated at the Australian Polocrosse Championships in Albury last year. Will also took part in the 2015 World Cup, that was held in South Africa. A squad weekend will be held this month in Warwick, during which 12 men and women from around Australia will come together to play.

The Weston family is greatly appreciative of the fact that Polocrosse has allowed them to travel all over the world, with their daughter Breanna having played in Alabama last year. Sandra says she doesn’t “remember not playing,” and noted that the communities of Jugiong and Harden “have always been supportive of the sport.” She believes it’s a great family sport, that everyone can take part in regardless of their skill level, and would encourage those interested to attend weekend registration. She joked that it was “good to still be up there with the young ones.” Teams from eight nations will participate at the event, to be held in April 2019.
