A crowd of teachers, staff and community members were invited to attend and were treated to tasty morsels prepared by the food technology students at the school. The state of the art industrial kitchen contains 12 gas stoves, a huge refrigerator, walk in pantry and storage, along with dish washer and brand new utensils.

Principal John McFadyem said the school had received a grant from the Federal Government.

The Hospitality Facility at Murrumburrah High School was funded under the Australian Government Trade Training Centres in Schools Program for Trades Skills Centres (TSC)

The new facility has been 12 months in the planning and construction stage with students currently using the facility. Food technology will hopefully transform in to Hospitality on the Murrumburrah High school curriculum in 2017.
