On Wednesday March 9th, the Hard Rock Gym had over 1000 years of experience in one room for its increasingly popular Active Seniors classes, with the ages of the fourteen participants ranging from 41 to 88.

The classes are held at 11:00am every Wednesday, but there may be more coming soon. “They’ve become so popular that we are looking at doing them twice a week,” said Glenn Stewart of Hard Rock Gym in Station Street.

The classes seem to be a lot of fun, with some participants even instigating dancing to the likes of Roy Orbison during warm-ups and cool-downs. The classes use gentle exercise equipment based on hydraulic systems, and on the first Wednesday of each month, the Hard Rock Gym puts on a morning tea after exercises. It is as much a social occasion as it is about being active.
Classes are $5.00 and are held every Wednesday at 11:00am.

The Hard Rock Gym will soon be opening up its new studio and will be offering even more options in Harden to get amongst it. There will be ‘Boxing for Exercise’, Youth Dance classes, more Yoga and Martial Arts classes to name a few.

If you would like more information, the gym at the old Sewells/Foodworks building is open from 6:00am to 11:00am, and 4:00pm to 8:00pm on weekdays and from 10:00am to 4:00pm on Saturdays.
