Angus Taylor with Harden Shire Residents Mark Douglas, Deputy Mayor Neil Reid, Robyn and Paul Atherton, Harden Shire Acting General Manager Trevor Drowley and Director of Engineering-Mark Crisp. Taylor was in town to inspect cctv in 2015, which he promised and delivered during his term representing Harden in his seat of Hume.
Angus Taylor has followed in his predecessor Alby Schultz footsteps and proven himself to be popular with residents of Harden Shire. Taylor recognised the need for an improvement in the facilities at the Grain Receival site at Cunningar and will most likely be missed by his soon to be ‘old’ constituents.
The Australian Electoral Commission has confirmed that the boundaries for Federal Electoral Divisions in New South Wales have been completed.
The new boundaries means that eight new Shires enter the Riverina electorate including: Harden Cootamundra, Cowra, Lockhart, Parkes, Forbes Weddin and Young.
Harden has been in the Hume electorate and represented by Angus Taylor for the last 3 years. Liberal Party stalwart Alby Schultz held the position from 3 October 1998 – 5 August 2013. He passed away in 2015.
Member for Hume Angus Taylor has confirmed today that he will nominate for Liberal Party pre-selection for the seat of Hume before the next federal election.
“Given that the new boundaries have been finalised, I am now in a position to confirm that I will nominate for Liberal Party pre-selection for the seat of Hume,” he said.
“It would be an honour to again have the opportunity to represent the people of Hume which I have done so since first being elected in September 2013.”
