The Harden Motel development has continued to reach for the sky and is coming together at a great rate.
The brainchild of Hilton and Alison Doberer will definitely leave its mark on the landscape when it is completed in the next few months.
Local builder Nathan Schofiled has been hard at work on the development and said getting the second floor frames and trusses up has given people a sense of what it will look like when it is completed.

According to Harden Motel owner, Hilton Doberer, demand for accommodation in the town has been increasing, with Temora flying days and last weekend’s Australian Two-Man Ambrose Tournament booking out the Motel entirely. “We’ve been operating with a high occupancy rate for a country motel as it is,” said Hilton. “Having 24 rooms will make it easier and give us flexibility.” The Motel’s location on the Burley Griffin Way gives it an advantage over most motels, with four transport companies using it as a driver changeover point on the Sydney to Adelaide route.
Hilton conceded that he is doing this to benefit the township, and the aim of the extension is to promote growth in the town. “This is a community effort, and it is being built for the sake of the community,” said Hilton. “We are using a local builder, and we will be using local contractors wherever possible.” The Harden Motel is expected to be fully operational by Easter.
