This week’s Local Legend is no longer with us. During her time here she made an enormous contribution.
……Carla taught casually in Young, Cootamundra and Harden before gaining fulltime employment at Trinity School where she took on a number of roles including Kindergarten Teacher, Assistant Principal, Librarian and Reading Recovery before she retired in April 2001 due to ill health. At Trinity she was a stabilizing influence during a period of great change. From the time of her appointment Carla worked with 3 principals, 2 priests and saw the school change from Kinder to Year 10 to a K-6 School. Always a great communicator, her love of teaching meant taking an interest in all the children at the school. Although only in the town of Harden Murrumburrah for a few short years, people said they felt they had known Carla all their lives. Such was the impact she had on so many people. She was very brave during her illness, never complaining despite difficult times………
