Customers of the NAB Bank have made complaints to our office about the fact that the Bank will be closing on Dec 24 and reopening on 4 January 2016, leaving a gap in the service especially for pensioners who still use the old passbook system and rely on Centrelink pensions expected on New Year’s Eve.
When we checked on the details we were greeted with a sign on the door confirming the above details.
Enquiries with other surrounding towns confirmed that they would be trading except for public holidays.
Is this the death knell for our branch of the NAB bank? Are we to lose the friendly faces who have looked after us so well for many years?
It has only been in the last few weeks that the branch lost two days per week trading Monday, Thursday and Friday.
To go from 3 days per week to zero days during the festive season also leaves businesses at a distinct disadvantage.
We are waiting on comment from Head Office.
