Jesse Manwaring and Carol Cross showed the opposition how it’s done at the 3rd Annual Cherry Chase in Young on Sunday.
Locals from the Twin Towns headed to the 3rd Annaul Cherry Chase Fun Run at Young on Sunday. Jesse Manwaring continued his excellent form after a trip to the US recently by taking out the 12-18 year old race in first place, beating much older competitors and was only 3 seconds behind the winner of the adult category with a time of 20:36. He took home the $100 prize money for his efforts. Jared Prosser came in 5th, Sam Whitehead 6th, Tyler Allen 7th and Will Manwaring 10th in the field of 50 runners. Anna Barker took out the ladies section and was closely followed in 2nd place by Carol Cross in a field of 171 competitors. Carol said “Its my 3rd Cherry Chase and a great event, there were a lot more competitors than last year.”
